Amazing Grace
Saturday, October 24, 2009 5 Comments »Well, it's finished. Good thing, because the shower is tomorrow. I debated wheter or not to wash it, but I am glad I went ahead and did. Now the quilt has that nice, crunkly, soft old feel to it. Sorry that the pictures are not so hot, but my camera does not do well indoors, and it's been pouring rain all day.
I did just a straight line of strips down the back, and added a label.

I hope Miss Grace likes it.

OOOOOO pretty! I love the strip down the middle of the back, quilting looks awesome, I love the pink and green and white and the label is oh so clever. What's not to like?
Very sweet, very girl. Good job!
Thanks, ladies. Is this the quilt I'm most proud of? No, but it has happy colors and is the first time I "winged it", not using a pattern but kinda making it up as I went along. I also found that as I was making it, I thought a lot about my God Daughter and about the friendship I have with her mother, Jan. One of the beauties of making a quilt is that it DOES give you time to think about who it's being made for. This quilt has a lot more in it than just the fabric and the thread.
Pat,
I love the quilt and you're right, washing and drying them when you're done makes them all soft and cuddly for the new baby. I love the label...I'm so bad at figuring out what to write on a label.
What pattern did you use for the quilt front?
Peggy
What a lovely quilt. Truly lovely.
