Easing Back Into It

Where has the time gone? I've been on a blogging sabbatical & and trying to ease my way back in.
My nephew and his bride just bought a darling house not too far from me. It has a ton of great features, is a place they can be in for a while, and was in almost move-in condition. Almost. It took several weekends, but the place now has freshly painted walls through out, and some new carpet in a few of the bedrooms. The main floor is painted in shades of gray (no comments, please), with crisp white woodwork. The kitchen has a very nice dining area, which they painted in the lightest shade of gray; the chair rail and wainscoting are a bright white. Their table has a light oak top, with white legs.
When I saw this line of of fabric, and a pattern using Julie Herman's Hex N More ruler, I knew what I had to do.
Here is Julie's ruler:
And here's what it can make!
I just love the braids. I need to play some more with that concept!

Welcome back! (Love how Nancy referred to you as a "former blogger"!) I also like making braids. It allows me to be relatively scrappy without causing me to freak out.
Welcome back! I need to get myself in gear too! Perhaps your return will inspire me!
Gray? [Grey?] I love a nice gra/ey. Think it doesn't get the respect it deserves as a neutral. Navy has the same problem. What a lovely table runner!
Currently considering the best way to use red(s) and gray(s) (and white) in a quilt for a silent auction benefiting D#2's senior class during Parent's Weekend in the fall. Will welcome any ideas when we all meet on Saturday!
